“We are called to serve the poor, the forgotten, and the homeless in South Carolina and other places worldwide.” Bishop Robert E.Guglielmone
At the Diocese of Charleston, we look for opportunities for Catholics and others interested in our mission to collaborate with us in our ministry. Our faith is deepened when we answer the call to serve the poor and encounter Christ more meaningfully.
To do so, in 2010, the Diocese of Charleston established the International Ministries Department under the Secretariat for Social Ministries. In 2024, this office was assigned under Catholic Charities of South Carolina, a Diocesan entity. Volunteers can participate in medical missions and the children’s sponsorship program called Project San Pedro. For more information, click the appropriate link on this page.
